Shipping & Delivery settings control how delivery works for your store: where you deliver, what rates customers see, and how shipping can be updated after an order is placed.
Manage this from:
Dashboard → Settings → Shipping & Delivery
1. General Settings
Estimated Delivery Days
Default delivery time shown when a shipping method has no own estimate.
Example:
If you enter 5, customers see an estimated delivery of about 5 days unless a method specifies something else.
Free Shipping Threshold
Automatically offer free shipping above a set order value.
Example:
If you set 999, orders above ₹999 can get free shipping.
Click the × button to clear this field if you don’t want automatic free shipping.
Calculate Shipping After Order
Choose whether shipping is calculated at checkout or later in the dashboard.
When enabled, checkout skips shipping calculation. The admin sets the delivery fee later on the order detail page.
Use this if:
Shipping cost needs manual review
You confirm courier charges after receiving the order
You deliver locally and set fees case by case
Default Delivery Fee
Fallback delivery fee used when no shipping rate matches.
Example:
If no zone or all-zone rate applies, the system can charge ₹50 as the delivery fee.
2. Shipping Methods
Shipping methods define how you deliver orders.
Examples:
Standard Delivery
Express Delivery
Local Delivery
Store Pickup
Each method can have:
Name
Description
Estimated delivery days
Active/inactive status
Default status
Sort order
Linked zones
Shipping rates
Apply to All Zones
Enabled: method is available in all zones

A rate can apply to:
All zones
One specific zone
Rate types:
Flat Rate: fixed delivery fee
Order Value Tiered: fee based on order value range
Free Shipping: free delivery when conditions are met
3. Shipping Zones
Shipping zones define where you deliver.
A zone can be:
A full state
A district within a state
Specific pincodes
Examples:
Kerala
Chennai City
Remote Areas
Non-serviceable Locations
Zone Status
Each zone can be:
Active: available for shipping rules
Inactive: temporarily disabled
Undeliverable: customers in this area cannot receive delivery
Undeliverable zones can still have location rules but do not need shipping rates.
4. Zone Locations
Within a zone, you define locations using:
States
Add an entire state to a zone.
Example:
Add Kerala to cover all pincodes in Kerala.
Districts
Select a state, then choose a district.
Example:
State: Kerala
District: Ernakulam
Pincodes
Add specific pincodes for precise control.
Example:682001, 682002, 682003

Orders show shipping details in the dashboard.
You can see:

FAQs
Why is shipping not calculated at checkout?
Shipping may be set to calculate after order.
Check:Settings → Shipping & Delivery → General Settings → Calculate shipping after order
If enabled, customers place the order first, and you add the shipping fee later from the order detail page.
What happens if no shipping rate matches?
If no rate matches, the system uses the Default delivery fee, if set.
If no default fee exists, shipping may need to be handled manually, depending on your backend rules.
What does “All zones” mean in a rate?
The rate can apply regardless of the customer’s zone.
Example:
An All India Standard rate with a ₹50 fee can apply to every zone.
What is a zone-specific rate?
A zone-specific rate applies only when the customer belongs to that zone.
Example:
A Kerala Discounted Rate applies only if the customer’s pincode matches the Kerala zone.
Can one shipping method have multiple rates?
Yes.
Example:
Standard Delivery can have:
₹50 for all zones
₹30 for Kerala
Free delivery above ₹999
The backend selects the best eligible rate.
What is an undeliverable zone?
An undeliverable zone is an area where you do not deliver.
Example:
Create a Remote Area zone, add certain pincodes, and mark it as undeliverable.
Do undeliverable zones need shipping rates?
No. Since you don’t deliver there, rates are not required.
What is the difference between zones and methods?
Zones define where you deliver.
Methods define how you deliver.
Example:
Zone: Kerala
Method: Standard Delivery
Rate: ₹50
What is the difference between free shipping threshold and free shipping rate?
Free shipping threshold: global rule for orders above a value.
Free shipping rate: set inside a method, with its own conditions (e.g., minimum order value or specific zone).
Can I manually change shipping after an order is placed?
Yes. Open the order detail page and click Edit shipping.
You can update:
Delivery fee
Method name
Estimated delivery days
Zone
Courier details
Will changing shipping update the order total?
Yes. The order total is recalculated with the new shipping fee.
Why do I see “Manually updated” on an order?
An admin changed the shipping details from the dashboard after the order was created.
Should I use states, districts, or pincodes for zones?
Use states for broad rules.
Use districts for city/region-level rules.
Use pincodes for exact control.
Best practice:
Start broad with states or districts, then use pincodes for exceptions.
Can I temporarily disable a shipping method?
Yes. Turn off the Active toggle for that method.
Can I temporarily disable a zone?
Yes. Turn off the Active toggle for that zone.
What should I do for local delivery?
Create a zone for your local area using districts or pincodes.
Then create a Local Delivery method, link it to that zone, and set a flat rate or free shipping rate.
