How to Collect Product-Specific Text, Numbers or Files

Use Personalization Inputs when a product needs details from the customer, such
as a printed name or an image.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT FEATURE

 * Manual fields: collect product-specific details.
 * Magic Studio template: use a design/preview workflow.
 * Variants: use these for choices such as Size or Colour.

ADD A MANUAL FIELD

 1. Open the product and expand Personalization Inputs.
 2. Choose Add Field.
 3. Enter a clear Field name.
 4. Choose Text, Number or File.
 5. Review Required.
 6. For files, check Max MB and allowed Types.
 7. Save the product.

EXAMPLES

 * Text: Name to print. Ask the customer to check spelling.
 * Number: a numeric value needed for this product.
 * File: an image needed to make the personalized product.

CHECK THE STOREFRONT

 * Open the product as a customer.
 * Check the field name and required setting.
 * Check file limits match what you can use.
 * If using Magic Studio, check the template variables and preview separately.

IF AN INPUT IS MISSING

 * Confirm the product saved.
 * Check the correct product/variant and assigned template.
 * Review customer files/details on the order before making the item.

 * Keep inputs relevant to the product.
 * Do not request passwords, card details or unrelated sensitive information.
