How to Organize Products with Categories and Subcategories

Group similar products with Categories. Use Sub-Categories for smaller groups
inside a category.

EXAMPLE

 * Category: Clothing.
 * Subcategory: T-shirts.

CREATE A CATEGORY

 1. Open Categories from the Products navigation.
 2. Choose the add-category action.
 3. Enter Category Name and Slug.
 4. Choose an icon or upload an image if needed.
 5. Save and check the category list.

CREATE A SUBCATEGORY

 1. Open Sub-Categories.
 2. Enter the name and slug.
 3. Select the Parent Category.
 4. Add an optional image and save.

ASSIGN A PRODUCT

 * Open the product editor.
 * Choose the category and subcategory, then save.
 * If a category has subcategories, a subcategory selection is required.
 * You can also add a category beside the Category field in the product form.

ARRANGE THE CATEGORY DISPLAY

 * Use category reorder controls where shown.
 * Review storefront display in Design → Home Page → Categories.

EDIT OR DELETE CAREFULLY

 * Use the row actions to edit details.
 * A slug is the URL-friendly name. Check shared links before changing it.
 * Review assigned products and links before deleting a category.

IF A CATEGORY IS MISSING

 * Refresh the list and check permissions.
 * For a subcategory, choose the correct parent category.
 * Confirm you are working in the intended store.
