Create reusable messages in WhatsApp Templates. Meta reviews them before approval.

Step 1: Start a template

  1. Open WhatsApp Templates → New template.
  2. Enter Template name.
  3. Choose the correct Category and Language.

Step 2: Add the content

  • Body: write the main message.
  • Header/Footer: add them if needed.
  • Media: review the available header options.
  • Variables: use Add variable for values such as a name.
  • Add the requested sample values for review.

Step 3: Add buttons if needed

  • Quick reply
  • Website
  • Phone
  • Offer code
  • Complete every button’s required fields and check the destination.

Step 4: Review and submit

  1. Check the live preview and variable samples.
  2. Choose Submit to Meta.
  3. Wait for the review result.
  4. Resolve any error instead of assuming the template was approved.

Sync and check status

  • Use Sync from Meta to refresh templates and statuses.
  • Only approved templates appear in the campaign form.
  • Meta can change a template’s status.
  • Approval does not replace recipient permission.
  • Follow the current WhatsApp messaging policy.

If a template is missing from campaigns

  • Check the connected account.
  • Sync from Meta.
  • Check Approved status and the intended language.
  • Avoid duplicate submissions while a review is pending.
